The 2" Figure 1502 Bleeder Sub is a critical safety component engineered to safely and controllably vent trapped line pressure before the disconnection of flowline iron. Rated for a Cold Working Pressure (CWP) of 15,000 PSI (15K), this essential fitting is designed to protect field personnel from the hazards of explosive decompression when breaking down high-pressure manifolds used in hydraulic fracturing (frac), cementing, and well testing operations.
Integrated seamlessly into the flowline, this sub features standard 2" Figure 1502 hammer union connections for rapid makeup and breakout. The body is machined with a specialized side port fitted with a heavy-duty bleed valve (or bleeder plug). Once pumping operations have ceased and the main isolation valves are closed, operators can carefully open the bleeder valve to slowly vent residual pressurized fluids and gases to the atmosphere or a safe containment area, ensuring the line is completely de-energized before a hammer is ever swung.
Manufactured from premium, heat-treated forged alloy steel, the bleeder sub provides exceptional structural integrity and fatigue resistance, ensuring safe and reliable containment during aggressive, high-pressure pumping, while standing ready to perform its critical pressure-relief function.
Features & Benefits
-
15,000 PSI CWP Rating: Safely contains extreme fluid pressures inherent in modern hydraulic fracturing and cementing operations.
-
Controlled Pressure Relief: Equipped with a dedicated bleed port/valve to safely vent trapped line pressure, preventing dangerous, uncontrolled energy release during rig-down.
-
Fig 1502 Connections: Features industry-standard 2" Figure 1502 hammer union ends for rapid, secure integration directly into existing flowlines.
-
Forged Alloy Steel Construction: Heat-treated for superior tensile strength, impact resistance, and maximum durability in harsh oilfield environments.
-
Compact Inline Design: Easily installs at strategic low points, dead-ends, or isolation points within the manifold without adding unnecessary length or bulk.
-
Enhanced Personnel Safety: A mandatory safety feature for high-pressure iron management, directly mitigating the risk of injury during iron breakdown.

Applications
This 2" Fig 1502 Bleeder Sub is strategically deployed at points in the manifold where pressure trapping is likely. Typical applications include installation immediately upstream of dead-end caps, between closed isolation valves (double block and bleed setups), and at low points on frac tree connections, cementing lines, and flowback manifolds to ensure safe pressure dissipation prior to maintenance or rig-down.
Quality Assurance
Each bleeder sub is manufactured to exacting standards under rigorous quality control protocols. The component undergoes strict dimensional inspection, with particular focus on the integrity of the hammer union sealing surfaces and the threading of the critical bleeder port. All units are fully traceable and undergo high-pressure hydrostatic testing to ensure fail-safe performance and personnel safety at 15,000 PSI.
