The Fabricated Crossover Adapter, 3" FIG 1502 Female (Thread) x 4" FIG 206 Male (Wing) featuring a Buttweld SCH XH construction, is a heavy-duty flowline component designed to bridge significant gaps in both pipe diameter and pressure ratings. This specialized adapter allows field operators to transition safely and efficiently from high-pressure 3-inch 15,000 PSI (FIG 1502) flowline systems to larger capacity, low-pressure 4-inch 2,000 PSI (FIG 206) distribution and suction lines.

Unlike standard single-piece forged crossovers, this unit utilizes a Fabricated Buttweld construction to accommodate the large jump in pipe sizes. The crossover is expertly welded using SCH XH (Schedule Extra Heavy) seamless pipe. This robust wall thickness ensures excellent structural integrity, superior erosion resistance, and reliable containment at the weld joints when stepping down from high-pressure lines into low-capacity mud or fluid systems.

The 3" FIG 1502 end features a precision-machined female thread (sub) connection, while the 4" FIG 206 end includes a massive male wing configuration complete with a heavy-duty wingnut and an O-ring seal optimized for low-pressure fluid containment.

Note: While the 3" FIG 1502 connection is nominally rated for 15,000 PSI, the overall working pressure of this crossover assembly is strictly limited by the 4" FIG 206 connection, resulting in a maximum system pressure rating of 2,000 PSI (2K CWP).

Features & Benefits

  • Fabricated Buttweld SCH XH Construction: Built using Schedule Extra Heavy (SCH XH) seamless pipe, providing structural strength and superior weld integrity for transitioning between drastically different pipe sizes.

  • Large-Scale Transition: Safely steps up from a 3-inch line to a 4-inch line while dropping pressure capacity, offering crucial flexibility for custom manifold layouts, suction lines, and fluid transfers.

  • Reduced Leak Paths: Eliminates the need to fabricate complex, multi-piece pipe configurations or stack multiple swages, thereby drastically reducing potential failure points.

  • Fast Installation: The 4" FIG 206 male end includes a heavy-duty wingnut, allowing for rapid, secure makeup and breakout on low-pressure equipment.

  • Reliable Low-Pressure Sealing: The FIG 206 profile utilizes a secondary O-ring seal in the male sub, providing a reliable, bubble-tight seal for standard low-pressure liquids and slurries.

Applications

This fabricated 3-inch to 4-inch crossover adapter is widely used in surface operations where transitioning from high-pressure manifolds down to larger low-pressure fluid systems is required. Typical applications include mud circulating systems, high-volume fluid transfers, suction hoses, cementing truck intake manifolds, and general manifold tie-ins where 3" 15K equipment must safely feed into high-capacity 4" 2K tank equipment.

Quality Assurance

All our fabricated buttweld crossovers undergo stringent quality control and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Weld joints are subjected to 100% radiographic (X-ray) or ultrasonic inspection to ensure zero defects and complete weld penetration. Each fitting undergoes rigorous hydrostatic pressure testing prior to shipment to guarantee absolute safety, shell integrity, and seal performance under working loads. Full material traceability is available to ensure API compliance.
