The Crossover Adapter, 3" FIG 1002 Female (Thread) x 2" FIG 1502 Male (Wing) for Sour Service, is a highly specialized, heavy-duty flowline component engineered to safely connect dissimilar hammer union sizes and pressure ratings in hazardous H2S environments. This critical adapter allows field operators to seamlessly transition from 3-inch FIG 1002 piping systems to 2-inch FIG 1502 flowline iron without compromising structural integrity, sealing performance, or personnel safety.

Operating in sour gas (H2S) environments exposes flowline equipment to the severe risk of Sulfide Stress Cracking (SSC) and rapid material failure. To guarantee absolute safety and compliance, this crossover adapter is manufactured from specially selected, corrosion-resistant steel alloys. The metal is strictly heat-treated to controlled maximum hardness levels, meeting or exceeding all NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 standards for sour service applications. Sour service unions and crossovers are typically painted olive green for quick visual identification in the field.

The 3" FIG 1002 end features a female thread connection, while the 2" FIG 1502 end includes a male wing configuration complete with a heavy-duty wingnut for fast, hammer-up installation.

Note: While a standard 2" FIG 1502 connection is nominally rated for 15,000 PSI, the overall working pressure of this sour service crossover assembly is limited by both the FIG 1002 rating and sour service de-rating, resulting in a maximum system pressure rating of 10,000 PSI (10K CWP).

Features & Benefits

  • Sour Service Compliant: Manufactured from specialized, erosion-resistant alloys and strictly heat-treated to comply with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 standards for safe H2S operation.

Seamless Transition: Safely connects 3-inch iron to 2-inch iron, providing essential flexibility for custom sour gas manifold and flowline rig-ups.
  • Reduced Leak Paths: Acts as a single, integral adapter, eliminating the need to stack multiple fittings and thereby reducing potential failure points and hazardous exposure risks.

  • Heavy-Duty Forged Construction: Built from high-strength alloy steel to withstand severe shock loads, vibration, and abrasive fluid flow in corrosive environments.

  • Fast Installation: The FIG 1502 male end includes a heavy-duty wingnut, allowing for rapid, secure makeup and breakout using standard rig hammers.

Applications

This sour service crossover adapter is mandatory in high-pressure surface operations involving corrosive gases where transitioning between different pipe diameters and union figures is required. Typical applications include sour gas well testing packages, H2S choke and kill manifolds, sour frac iron rig-ups, cementing lines, and general flowback operations safely managing toxic fluids.

Quality Assurance

All our sour service adapters and crossovers undergo rigorous metallurgical testing and strict quality control processes. The forged bodies are verified for proper hardness levels to ensure maximum resistance to Sulfide Stress Cracking. Each unit undergoes strict hydrostatic pressure testing prior to shipment to ensure absolute safety, shell integrity, and seal performance. Full material traceability and NACE certification are available.
