The 2" FIG 1502 Dart Type Check Valve is a heavy-duty, high-pressure directional flow control valve engineered for rigorous oilfield applications. Built to withstand extreme working pressures up to 15,000 PSI (15K CWP), this integral hammer union check valve is an essential safety component designed to ensure unidirectional fluid flow and instantaneously prevent hazardous backpressure during demanding pumping, well testing, and servicing operations.
Unlike swing or flapper valves, the dart-style check valve utilizes a precision-machined, spring-loaded dart mechanism. During normal operations, the forward fluid pressure overcomes the spring tension, pushing the dart back and opening the flow path. The moment forward flow stops or reverse pressure is detected, the heavy-duty return spring and the reverse fluid pressure immediately force the dart back into the matched seat, creating a bubble-tight, instantaneous seal. This rapid response makes dart valves exceptionally reliable for gas, liquid, and standard slurry applications where immediate shut-off is critical.
Manufactured from high-strength forged alloy steel, this valve is designed to withstand intense shock loads, vibration, and harsh flowline conditions.
Features & Benefits
-
Instantaneous Shut-Off: The spring-loaded dart mechanism provides immediate response to pressure drops or reverse flow, ensuring maximum protection for upstream equipment and personnel.
-
Extreme Pressure Rating: Forged steel body is built to safely handle 15,000 PSI cold working pressures in aggressive drilling and production environments.
-
Integral FIG 1502 Connections: Features standard 2-inch FIG 1502 hammer union ends (Male x Female) for fast, secure, and leak-free makeup and breakout in the field.
-
High-Strength Internals: The internal dart and seat are machined from heat-treated alloy steel for maximum wear resistance and long-term reliability under high-pressure conditions.
-
Field Maintainable: Designed with a top-entry cover, allowing operators to quickly inspect or replace internal wear components (dart, seat, and spring) inline without removing the entire valve body from the flowline.
