The 2" FIG 1502 Swing Check Valve (Reverse Flow) is a heavy-duty, high-pressure directional flow control valve engineered for rigorous oilfield applications. Built to withstand extreme working pressures up to 15,000 PSI (15K CWP), this integral hammer union check valve is essential for ensuring unidirectional fluid flow and preventing hazardous backpressure during demanding pumping, fracturing, and well servicing operations.
A key defining feature of this model is its Reverse Flow configuration. In a standard hammer union check valve, the fluid typically flows in one specific direction relative to the union ends (usually from the male end to the female end). In this reverse flow model, the internal swing mechanism (clapper and seat) is installed in the opposite orientation. This allows fluid to flow in reverse (e.g., from the female union to the male union), accommodating specialized manifold layouts, complex iron rig-ups, and space constraints without the need for additional crossover adapters.
The swing-style design features a high-strength flapper (or clapper) that swings completely out of the flow path when fluid is moving in the correct direction. This creates a full-bore, unobstructed flow path that significantly reduces turbulence, making it highly effective for pumping large volumes of abrasive fluids containing frac sand, proppants, and heavy cement slurries.
Features & Benefits
-
Reverse Flow Configuration: Internal components are oriented to allow flow opposite to standard check valves, providing critical flexibility for custom manifold and flowline rig-ups.
-
Full-Bore Flow Design: The swing mechanism allows the disc to move completely out of the fluid path, minimizing pressure drop and reducing wear when pumping highly abrasive frac sand and cement.
-
Extreme Pressure Rating: Forged steel body is built to safely handle 15,000 PSI cold working pressures in aggressive drilling and production environments.
-
Integral FIG 1502 Connections: Provides fast, secure, and leak-free makeup and breakout in the field under extreme pressure.
-
Field Maintainable: Designed with a top-entry cover, allowing operators to quickly inspect or replace internal wear components (clapper, seat, and seals) inline without removing the valve body from the flowline.

Applications
The 2" FIG 1502 Reverse Flow Swing Check Valve is utilized in complex high-pressure surface operations where standard flow directions cannot be accommodated. Typical applications include custom choke and kill manifolds, high-rate fracturing iron setups, cementing lines, acidizing jobs, and flowback operations requiring immediate and reliable reverse-flow prevention for equipment and personnel safety.
Quality Assurance
All our reverse flow check valves are manufactured from premium forged alloy steel and subjected to rigorous quality control processes. Each unit undergoes strict hydrostatic pressure testing prior to shipment to ensure shell integrity and bubble-tight seal performance under maximum working loads. Full material traceability and certification are available to guarantee safety and compliance with API guidelines.
