The BX-162 Ring Type Joint (RTJ) Gasket is a high-performance, pressure-energized metal sealing ring engineered specifically for use with large-diameter 16-3/4" API 6BX flanges in high-pressure oilfield applications. Designed to handle extreme operating pressures ranging from 5,000 PSI up to 10,000 PSI (5K/10K), the BX-162 delivers a robust, blowout-proof seal essential for heavy-duty wellheads, blowout preventers (BOPs), and critical subsea and surface manifold systems.

Manufactured from premium Low Carbon Steel (LCS), this gasket is precision-machined and then zinc-plated (or treated with a comparable corrosion inhibitor) to prevent surface oxidation and ensure maximum integrity during storage and field installation. The BX series features a highly specialized geometry that allows for complete face-to-face contact between the mating flanges upon makeup. Once fully torqued, the gasket is totally enclosed within the flange groove, making the connection exceptionally resistant to mechanical shock, intense vibration, and severe temperature fluctuations.

The pressure-energized design dictates that as internal system pressure increases, the sealing force driving the gasket against the flange's sealing surfaces actively intensifies, guaranteeing a bubble-tight metal-to-metal seal.
